What is Self Hypnosis?
All hypnosis is self hypnosis and self hypnosis is an unconscious or conscious shift from one mental state to another. Typically, the shift the mind takes is to a more productive or relaxed state.
When you have a session with a professional hypnotist he or she is helping to facilitate a trance state or guide you towards your goal however it is still an act of entering into self hypnosis. You will only participate to the degree you are willing to. That doesn’t mean however, that goals that you’ve had resistance to in the past cannot be achieved. A trained hypnotist can help you to understand where the resistance is coming from so you can see it in a different way and move past it.
All human beings enter into self hypnosis daily. Whether it takes place daydreaming, while driving or when waking up or falling asleep at night, we move into these different brain wave length frequencies naturally and many times without consciously telling ourselves to do so.
